Guest:  Ken Cooper, 4th District Rep.

Andy Genga read Executive Board report.  Proposition for Membership - Gary Press, Utilityman at A & N and Matthew Calloway, Temp Meter Reader at Delmarva Power.

Delegates & Committees: Clarence reported on Labor Council, Healthcare/Delmarva - Open enrollment was discussed.  Healthcare/Choptank - Ginny reported that they have information on quotes for insurance. Health and Wellness/Delmarva - Debbie reminded everyone about flu shots. Safety/Delmarva - Jeff reminded group that October is fire prevention month. Pat Hurley reported on not locking meter boxes. Safety/NRG - Lindley and Andy reported on ESC, flu shots and safety items at NRG. Safety/Choptank-Ginny reported on Safety at Home, be careful of electric hedge trimmers.

Accident, sickness and death of membert were reviewed.

Andy read letter regarding grievance committee.

Jeff Shrieves question unwritten discipline policy for substations, relay & communications department.

David stated that Delmarva Power is hiring 8 new temps in the Call Center.

Treasurer: Andrew Genga. Executive Board: Vaughn Horner, Cecil Marshall, Jack Sturgis, Bob Weyant, Virginia Williams, Mark Derrickson, Billy Swift, Bruce Daisey, Chuck Harris, Edward Sparks, Cassie Cooper and Heather Adkins. Judge: Patrick Hurley. Tellers: Nicole Bruno and Dean McNeilla.

Next Union Meeting and Vote for officers - November 12, 2009.  Vote from 7:30AM to 7:30PM at the Union Hall.

Meeting minutes: August 13, 2009

Meeting called to order at 7:30PM

 
Introductions made – 34 in attendance. Donnie Matthews thanked group for their financial support. David discussed LU1900 contract.
 
Minutes and communications were read. Andy Genga read the Executive Board report. There were no propositions for membership. Eddie Sparks reported that in June 2009 we had 532 BA members and 18 A members and in July 2009 we have 527 BA members and 18 A members.
 
Healthcare/Delmarva-providers will be Blue Cross (Carefirst), Aetna and Cigna. Vendors will be attending each location and employees can ask questions at that time. Open enrollment will be the week of October 5th.
 
Healthcare/Choptank-there will be a meeting for bids on August 26, 2009.
 
Safety/Delmarva-committee will meet end of August. Question was brought up about safety footwear for Engineering Fieldmen; Jeff or David will check into this.
 
Safety/NRG-the ESC is starting and the Fly Ash incident at the plant was explained.
 
Safety/Choptank-an investigation is ongoing that involved a lineman.
 
Grievances were review/discussed.
 
Accidents, Sickness & Death-Delmarva - Wayne Whitney, Lois Dickerson, Russell Archer, Bob Stevens and Tony Baynard. Death of member Avery Tom Taylor.

New Business-Delmarva-Unum Provident was questioned – any questions the contact person for FMLA is Debbie Hunter. Meter Reader issues were discussed and groundman postings were discussed.
 
NRG-Lindley reported on back end controls at NRG.

 July 9, 2009
 
Meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Official roll call was taken and communications were read. Eddie Sparks read the Executive Board report. There were no Propositions for membership.
 
Delegates and Committees:
Safety Committee at Delmarva met on 6/22/09, all safety issues should be reported to Jeff Shrieves.
Safety at NRG, Lindley reported no big issues; changing out fire hydrants was discussed. The Employee Action Committee training has not started yet.
 
Grievances were reviewed/discussed for Delmarva Power & Choptank. No grievances for NRG or A&N.
 
Unfinished Business:
NRG-Lindley reported on the meeting at Legislative Hall regarding cooling towers at NRG. Twenty-one members and David attended the meeting on 6/18/09.
 
Delmarva-Group discussion on filing jobs for protected Meter Readers and filling jobs in management.
 
New Business: 
Delmarva-discussion on the Cardinal Rule Violation, Electricians pulling meters and OMS & GIS not the same as it is in the field and not getting maps. Rehoboth Substation being labeled incorrectly was also discussed.

Meeting minutes: June 11, 2009

            The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Roll Call was taken, minutes and communications were read.
 
Clarence Fletcher discussed Labor Night at Camden Yard and he will look into setting this up for next year.
 
Healthcare at Delmarva – to meet on 6/12 to present vendors that have been chosen.
 
Safety at Delmarva – Any safety issues should be presented to Jeff Shrieves. Jeff questioned missing pole co-ordinate numbers. Phil Cathell questioned the practice of calling in when closing transformer fuses and bayonet fuses.
 
Safety at NRG – New auto racking breakers in 4160 rooms are in. NRG celebrated 365 days no OSHA recordable incidents. A luncheon was served on 6/12/09 to celebrate their accomplishment.
 
Grievances were reviewed/discussed at Delmarva. No grievances for NRG, Choptank or A & N.
 
New Business: Eddie read about PHI employee, Russell Collins helping wounded veterans/fallen veteran’s families. Eddie made a motion to make a donation to Operation Home Front in support of Russell. Motion approved.
 
David read announcement regarding Local 1900’s contract.
 
NRG – Backend controls are improving with the Plants. Andy read a request to change the pension plan, any changes must be presented to the IBEW, and a motion was made and approved to submit changes.
 
OPEN DISCUSSION:
David discussed AMI with the group. Pat Hurley discussed Delmarva’s Blueprint; accounting for assets may start as soon as August 2009 timeframe.

Meeting called to order at 7:30PM by David Adkins, President. Roll Call taken, minutes and communications were read. 2 new members were accepted for membership; Charlie Jones and Bruce Denhoff both temp meter readers in Centreville.
 
Healthcare at Delmarva – working on choosing Vendors, Company is work with all four Locals; next meeting will be 4/23. Safety at Delmarva – new Safety book roll out.
 
Safety at NRG – Lindley reported on top 10 and LOTO, also receiving 2 new pickups.
 
Safety Choptank – David discussed safety book amendments.
 
Accident, Sickness and Death of members were reviewed for Delmarva, NRG, Choptank and A & N.
 
Unfinished Business:
AMI training discussed.
 
New Business:
 
Larry Fisher is interested in starting a Union Retirees Club, for all retirees of 1307. Larry will meet with Dick Dickerson and Andy Genga to send letters to retirees.
 
There will be a Groundman class scheduled for the September timeframe.
 
Eddie Sparks swore in new E-Board member Billy Swift.
 
David discussed repairs to Union Hall to be done by the NRG Employees.
